Preparation.

As I prepare for my trip, I hope I've prepared well for my journey both physically and mentally. Physically I feel good. I'm down to around 183 pounds and expect with the caloric burn I'll be going through to possibly lose 15-20 pounds. Mentally I'm feeling strong but with the recent turmoil of the last month with the separation from my wife, it has taken its toll both mentally and physically.

I'm doing the El Camino and dedicating it to my wife and I and our future to be determined reconciliation. This will be a great time to reflect on my life taking a look in the rear view mirror, looking at my life in the present and looking towards the future. I guess it's what one might say is a midlife trek. I'm grateful for my health and feel confident in my ability to fulfill my dream.

My goal will be to complete 15-20 miles a day, but it's not so much about reaching a destination as it is about the journey putting one step in front of the other and feeling good about my accomplishment for that one day. The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step and that goes for spiritual journeys too. I will try to post along the way sharing insights, encounters, stories or anecdotes I find interesting. I will write as the mood dictates and I won't know what kind of connectivity I'll have, so please feel free to check back, though posts might be erratic in nature. Thanks in advance for sharing in my adventure.
